How can you tell the difference between real air jordan shoes and variants?

Many web sites sell "variants" of jordan shoes but I can't see any difference between them and the real thing. Is there any difference at all?

1. Its difficult to tell online, but I wouldn't buy them online. You can usually tell buy the stores that carry the real deal. The prices usually tend to be in the $100's. And the quality, if the shoe is cheaply made. Online, I know that Eastbay sells real air jordans, but they are pricey.
2. Pricing. If all the shoes are the same price, it's fake. If it's around $100, or under, all fake. No such thing as clear jordans. www.air-jordans.com has a list of ALL the colors released.
3. the colorway is different. the shape of the jordan logo is too fat or too skinny. bar codes. there's alot of ways to tell. if the site says they sell variants.. it's pretty much fake. the cost of it also helps. jordans are known to cost atleast $100 and up.
4. order a solecollector magazine from iss.com Order the Jordan edition and it will have most all the colors of Jordans that are real
